No, no! The little aliens MADE her use drugs. The Scientologists would have cleaned her brain and straightened her out.
Apparently, he's really more like Vinnie Barbarino than any of the other characters he ever portrayed.

I think that it is big aliens that came down and exercised the demons...people in hollywood wouldn't worship something little...they truely believe that bigger is better...ie, houses, egos, etc.
Until now I thought of him as one of the more normal actors...guess I was wrong. Silly me.
what a toilet bowl Hollywood is.

Well, either Scientology or embryonic stem cell research might have helped her.

No. John Travolta, Kelly Preston and Kirstie Alley are the mores famous members and talk about it. They were not as "crazy" about it as Tom Cruise was. (Brooke Shields) I personally don't think Scientology could've saved her either because they do not believe in people seeking counseling or theraphy to help them deal with their problems. Just take vitamins and exercise does not help everything.

All the guy said was he wishes a program he believes in could have had a chance to help her. Come on people, the woman needed help. Any help is better than no help. Try to get past a persons personal beliefs. The woman had no friends. Would you critisize the rope that is thrown to a drowning person?

Oh, come on...She was beyond help...she offered nothing to society except that she was a tool to use to show your children how not to be.
Bury her and forget it.

If you have ever caught John Travolta on Oprah you would know he really seems to care and believe in what he shares. So I bet he does think about her and wish he had been able to reach her.
I just keep thinking about her son and his short life. I know she was young too but he never even had a chance to live. This is a tragic family ... and no wonder with Virgie as the loving Grandma ... Apples never fall far from the trees.

My, you're both insecure and immature...how quaint.
Exactly what sort of rude point are you doing trying to achieve with that comment?
Scientology for John Travolta is exactly what Jesus is for religious Christians; it's a way to deal with the unknown.
One would think a college graduate would understand that.
Of course, it's likely that your Christian "tolerance" would not allow you to accept the equivalency.

What stopped john from picking up the phone and calling her all this time. It is funny how once she is dead there is so much "coulda, woulda, shoulda" but she was only on TV for over 3 years. Why now he coulda...I am sure, base on Ms. nicole's personality she would have loved to hear from him. Her drug problem was made public to millions at her last award show.
I was not a fan of her, just a person who believes many people "could have" stopped her if they wanted to take the time.

Yea I feel sorry for Howard too. He may have to get a real job now. Poor fella, I hope he makes it. After all of this Anna Nicole and Brittney mess, my TV needs to go into rehab!

I really don't feel bad for anyone.
The baby will be better off without her influences.
Howard K--why would you feel sorry for him??? He lost nothing and he was sick enough to stick his "willy" in her--ewwww, icky!

Well said. Hind sight is always 20/20 and everyone is always quick to say they coulda done something give the chance. If they coulda they shoulda when it woulda made a difference.
It just goes to show you how many celebrities are quacks.
I lived in a city run by scientologists and frankly it wasn't the greatest place in the world. It was like walking into zombie land when you went downtown. Yeah scientology is the best religion ever. (sarcasm off)

You can't help someone that doesn't want help!! She was already in a downward spiral from the drug use...her son's death made it worse. Media didn't help either. If people would stop making icons out of actors and actresses, everyone would be a lot better off, I'm thinking. They aren't the "end all, be all" on this planet. Though some think they are.

Scientology is a joke. Never follow a religion made up by a guy who dressed like the Skipper on Gilligan's Island.

travolta and cruise are shills for a pseudo-religion that is nothing more than a financial scam.
i had a close friend with mental health problems who joined years ago. in less than a year scientology had bankrupted her family and had acquired the deed to the family home. my friend fell deeper into mental illness.
i remember visiting her at an apartment she shared with other scientologists. the place was a pig stye, she was required to work 16 - 20 hours a day without recompense and her "treatment" was nothing less than verbal & emotional abuse.
scientology is just as bad as the jim jones or waco whacko cults.

Scientology for Celebrities is obviously different from people like your friend in one way. The celebrities have accountants that stop them from giving all of their money property, possessions, etc away. There are former Scientologists who are speaking out against Scientology.

I think that the more these actors spend around a camera must have some sorta radiation deterioration in their brains. Maybe it takes the stupidest of people to become popular actors, but then why give these morons any money and let them promote their insanity? 1 plus 2 plus 1=121, eureka I'm a scientologist moron!

Every time I read the "COMMENTS" I'm amazed at how little value is put on human life. Most seem to place themselves on some personal pedastal that only they can see, making themselves somehow better then the person being discussed. Travolta is an awesome person with a kind heart, yet he's bashed for his spiritual beliefs. He flew his plane in a humanitarian effort to deliver medicines to victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. That type of thing gets forgotten.
Have any of YOU reached out to someone in need lately?
Does anyone look for the good in people anymore? Or do you (as my Dad used to say) just enjoy blowing other's candles out to make yours look brighter?
I'm sure I'll get slammed and y'all will be real defensive..But what you think of me is none of my business.
What I think of myself matters and the lives I touch matter.
Peace,
Christy

My problem is how stupid people are. For example... Why would travolta be pushing this issue?? Money no doubt. If he can exploit a celebrities death to promote his cult then he makes more money, Plain and simple! On the other hand you got some moron that watches a travolta movie and then reads this article.. sends their kids to a brain washing scientology cult, then they go drink poison cooled on the lawns of the white house to promote some sorta rights movement oriented around flaunting disgusting habits like homosexuality in the faces of people who don't want there kids being confused about why Santa is putting his pee pee in that elves face.

i have no problem with travolta's personal beliefs or kind heart. i am bashing the organization he is advocating and i think he is a fool to support a cult that has done so much damage to people.
if you really care about people, look into scientology, listen to the horror stories of former members and then tell me you think travolta is justified in supporting that organization.
scientology uses it's celebrity membership as recruiters.

Here's the thing about the John Travolta's and Tom Cruise's of the world: when you boast about your religious beliefs, and try to convert everyone you know, your religion tends to appear "skin-deep". More like, you're only religious so that people can hear you say "I am religious". Spirituality is personal, humble, quiet and kind. ANYONE who speaks out about their beliefs, and tries to convert others, abandons all faith they ever claimed to have had. If you are SO secure in your beliefs, then you will not need the validation of anyone else's conversion. John Travolta is cracked out.

Someone tell me the difference between this cult and that of any other religion? People bash the scientologists, but all religions are just as preposterous as this one.
Reply-

fishoutofwater1 year, 9 months ago
Not true. Most religions have a basis in the historical record. Whether or not you accept the prophets as speaking the revealed words of God, is of course, a personal choice. But, the source of the "truth" is multi-layered and generally at least quasi-related to historical events which can be verified. The faith attempts to put the events into a context of broader understanding. Hubbard salvaged Scientology out of an equally vacuous belief system known as Dianetics. It has no explanatory value; no historical value and no basis in anything other than Hubbard's noggin.

Historical record? It's full of all kinds of historical innacuracies. It proves that the people that wrote these fariy tales had no knowledge of the historical, biological, astrological, geological, geographical or fossil record. There are so many innacuracies in fact, that it can be dismissed as fiction almost immediately.

here is the difference between a cult and religion... religion is a spiritual journey where as you learn wisdom (Different from intelligence) and in a sense open your eyes to the world that you cannot see or touch physically. Scientology is exactly opposite. It encourages realism; that is, if you can see it, touch it, smell it, taste it then it exists otherwise it does not exist. In essence making people even dumber.
Reply-

toph19731 year, 9 months ago
I completely disagree. How can something that is made up teach you wisdom? In fact, religion fosters the opposite. It fosters closed mindedness, racism, hatred, intolerance and ignorance. Look at how many people still believe that god put us here, when evolution has been proven. I could go on all day with what has been proven to be incorrect about religion, but even with all of the evidence that there is no god, people still have their beliefs. That is not wisdom or intelligence on any level.

Weak minded people (practically everyone, in one way or another) can be convinced of practically anything. People espousing any form of organized religion take advantage of this to bilk people of their time and-or money. Scientology is not really different - it's just on the low end of the scale. Studies indicate that people who attempt to kick a drug habit on their own have the SAME success rate as those who go to a 12 step program or professional counselor. Which means, the desire (or need, if you will) to quit any particular behavior MUST come from within or it is unlikely to work out. Smacking a person on the head with a bible to make them give up drugs won't work any better than hooking them up to some silly machine with a needle telling them their 'chi' is out of balance. Or whatever that Scientology crap is supposed to indicate.

An inbalance in one's qui can be corrected and it does help but not by scientology. See a good accupuncturist.

Holy Cow John what are you smokin? The only thing that could have saved Anna Nicole is if she had not allow everyone and everything to control her life. Better more well thought out choices on her part and she might be alive today.

My opinion of this is that these people like John Travolta are using this opportunity to get their names in the spotlight. He has a movie that is due to open soon and what better way to get your name on the front page than to make some assanine comment about a non - event regarding a very controversial and extreme treatment for drug use and his idiotic philosophy based on a science fiction novel that claims aliens in spacecrafts landed on earth some fifty million years ago. If he truly cared, he would be visit her and ask if he could help her and make sure everything was okay before she died. He is just a media ****** and a bad actor with bad teeth as well. John, why don't you go back to playing Vinnie Barbarino because that is all you are good portraying. And who cares if you can fly a Boeing 707 aircraft.

Why do we even worry about someone who's been dead for three weeks? If John Travolta is really interested SAVING people, why not try his hand with the bald Brittany?
Course, if he's only interested in SHAVING people, Brittany is already too far gone.

I can't take seriously a religion started by L. Ron Hubbard on a bet with...who's that other science fiction writer? I think the guy who wrote Dune. Or Ray Bradbury. I disremember. Doesn't matter. Scientology was started on a bet. It's a cult. I wish John Travolta and Tom Cruise would've kept their mouths shut about their religion. Can't see their movies anymore bec I can't get past their idiotic remarks re Scientology to focus on their performances. Travolta may be an excellent pilot (he crash landed in DC once, skillfully handled the plane, the weather went bad and the engines failed and the odds were against him landing it safelly, and it wasn't publicized that the pilot was him), but he's so stupid sounding when he talks about his 'religion.'
