Oct. 24, 2006, 8:49 p.m.Nirvana is one of my favortie bands of all time. I love almost everything they've done especially Nevermind and their MTV Unplugged In New York CD. My favorite song is The Man Who Sold the World. I think he's one of the greatest and one of the most influnecial artists of the 20th century. So Nirvana members that are still alive Dave Grohl and the others keep doing what you are doing, and find a way to bring Kurt back.

Oct. 24, 2006, 10:57 p.m.Being that Nirvana is one of your favorite bands, shouldn't you know that there were only 3 members of Nirvana.. Kurt, Dave and Krist. So who are "the others" that you are referring to??

Oct. 24, 2006, 8:52 p.m.It's about time....elvis was an idiot. His so called King of rock should have gone to Chuck Berry......back in that time all blacks were still ****** and worthless.....to people like elvis. He stole the thunder right out from under people like Mr. Berry, and he got away with it because he was white. I mean come on the guy couldn't hold a candle to any of the black musicians back then. Not that Kurt was a total genius and all that jazz.....I like Nirvana alot....and I am a white guy.
elvis has been way over rated for way to long.....its to bad that Kurt had to die to win this title.

Oct. 24, 2006, 9:02 p.m.Elvis is overrated omg whats wrong with you, he is the king of Rock And Roll. True Black Musicians were just as good if not better, but come on Elvis overrated. Some of his songs are pretty cool. But a reason could be why Elvis got the spotlight is his looks, i mean seriously if you were a young white girl would u pick the really good looking white guy or the other one.

Oct. 25, 2006, 9:24 a.m.Yup, Elvis will definately be back next year, I agree Fygar, and the years to follow as well.
I loved Kurt too but I don't see anyone topping the King for very long.
(*There's one comment above that I would love to debate with but being so ludicriss and ignorant -it's just not worth it.)
Have a good day, everyone!

Oct. 25, 2006, 9:25 a.m.I find this amazing. I don't care for Nirvana, a few songs are ok. He mumbled too much for me. haha anyways, I wish they would have chosen a more strong positive approach to help people deal with depression, addiction, anxiety, instead of taking the weak way out. I know he suffered, but People with that much influence should do positive things. Killing yourself is weak.

Oct. 25, 2006, 9:27 a.m.The king didn't have Itunes, big time tv commercials, all the fm and sirius radios. He does now. He will be back at top. He is a the king after all.

Oct. 25, 2006, 9:57 a.m.Kut, was an idiot... I don't like Nirvana... I prefer to remember People like... INXS, with Hutchence, Joy Division with Ian Curtis, The Who with Keith Moon, a very long list... Kobain was just another POP Star with a Rocker Disguise...

Oct. 25, 2006, 10:23 a.m.Kurt was the man, he was an innovator and great musical talent of his time.
Elvis on the other hand was a biter/copy cat. He basically a guy, teenage girls had crushes on at the time. He was bascially the male version of britney spears but happened to be more famous.

Oct. 25, 2006, 10:37 a.m.no way Elvis brought rock n roll to the mainstream and helped unite a generation. Kurt was awsome too, i miss them both. i think their hearts were too big for their bodies.

Oct. 25, 2006, 1:12 p.m.Elvis is good and all that, but COME ON!
All kings have their time to reign, and I think it's time we crown the next king! This isn't to take away from any if Elvis' many accomplishments in his lifetime, it's to honor him, and to recognize other legendary stars. Elvis will always be the original king, though, no matter what. Can't take that away.
In all honesty, Jimi Hendrix belongs on this list as well, but that's just me.

Oct. 25, 2006, 2:58 p.m.it's sad that in our society someone like kurt cobain is so exalted. i'm sure he'd agree.
-

BigIan
Oct. 25, 2006, 3:19 p.m.Well, it's not so sad. It could be Dubya.
Most of Cobain's earnings probably came from those woeful Nirvana 'smiley' face t-shirts.....and the equally bad ones of him with the shorter hair and mascara eyes, as previously sported by the Avril Lavigne generation. I even recall a member of New Kids On The Block wearing a Bauhaus t-shirt in one of their vids.
